unu

Short version

unu was a Berlin-based electric scooter manufacturer, founded in 2013. Initially the company sold rebranded Chinese scooters (the Classic generation); in 2019 they announced the Scooter Pro, a newly developed model with built-in cellular connectivity and smartphone integration. Later came the Scooter Move as a lower-cost variant: the same body shell as the Pro, but with different internals (Fardriver motor controller, China-OEM-standard components, no built-in modem). unu went bankrupt in 2022; the original cloud and sales channels have been offline since.

Mechanically the scooters are largely fine. The main limitations are software: GPS, sharing, remote control, and smartphone features are no longer usable without the original manufacturer backend. That's exactly what the projects gathered under rescoot address.

Why this page exists

There are several thousand unu Pros in circulation. Many are sitting somewhere gathering dust because their owners don't know the scooter can still be used sensibly. This page and the linked projects are our contribution to changing that.
